ZURICH: Outgoing Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon says the best achievement of his six years at the club was breaking Manchester United and Arsenal's grip on the Premier League.
Kenyon, speaking about Chelsea's titles in 2005 and 2006, said, "we broke that cartel." Kenyon says Chelsea became respected in Europe since he joined in 2003, when Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich bought the London club.
Chelsea has doubled turnover and now sells out every Premier League game at Stamford Bridge. But while it came close, it has not won the Champions League.
Chelsea announced last week that Kenyon, who previously worked at Man United, will relinquish his role next month. - AP
